Sega Stopping Mature Wii Games

Sega has announced that they are unlikely to publish any more Mature rated games for the Nintendo Wii.

This comes after relatively weak sales from MadWorld and House of the Dead: Overkill, as well as EA's Dead Space.

Not a horribly shocking revelation, I suppose. The Wii audience is younger than the PS3 or Xbox 360 audience, so I wouldn't expect impressive sales of "M" rated games on the Wii. Read the full story on gamasutra below:

Legendary: The Box On Consoles

Gamecock Media Group and Spark Unlimited have just announced that their upcoming game, Legendary: The Box, will be headed to the Xbox 360 and PS3 in addition to the PC when it is released this summer.

Legendary is a first person shooter filled with mythical beasts and fantasy. The game chronicles the story of Charles Deckard, an art thief who is duped into stealing Pandora’s Box. When he inadvertently opens it, he releases hordes of beasts such as werewolves and gryphons into our world. As the man who freed these monsters and the only one that can restore order, Charles finds himself in an all out war of man versus myth.

While this isn't quite an RPG, the game's fantastic tale and beautiful screenshots have grabbed my interest, so it seems worth a bit of coverage to me. Look forward to more in the future, and in the mean time, check out the official site below:

Monster Hunter 3 for Wi

After a recent Nintendo press conference, Capcom announced that their upcoming Monster Hunter 3 will be a Wii exclusive title.

Oddly, Monster Hunter 3 was initially a PS3 exclusive title but high development costs on the PS3 were a deciding factor to switch platforms. The conference also saw the announcement of several Nintendo first party titles.

Monster Hunter is a major franchise in Japan with both PSP games in the series having sold over a million copies. However, the series has had limited success in North America.

Xbox Live Happenings

XboxAs an Xbox fan, I just wanted to notify gamers of some noteworthy happenings on Xbox Live.

First off, two new demos of interest have been added: Bladestorm and Conan. I haven't played Bladestorm yet, but it's in the same vein as the Dynasty Warriors series... only based in Europe. As for Conan, I've played through the demo and really enjoyed it. Conan is a hack n' slash adventure similar to God of War in many respects.

Both games will be available on the Xbox 360 and PS3, with Conan heading for release later this month and Bladestorm coming next month.

The second noteworthy piece of news is that Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords is almost ready for launch on the Xbox Live Arcade! This highly addictive and deep game was originally released on the DS and PSP and will be available for download on Live this Wednesday for 1200 points.

I've already played (and loved) the DS version of Puzzle Quest, but I still plan on getting the Xbox Live version. It's a really fun game, and I prefer console gaming as opposed to handheld gaming anyway, so I look forward to the Xbox release!

atlusAtlus has recently announced that they will be revealing a new Persona title shortly after the Tokyo Games Show.

Other than the initial announcement that the title is in development for the PS3, no details have been announced yet. However, due to the recent success of the series in the U.S., gamer shouldn't be surprised if this new installment in the series eventually makes it to North America.

For now we just have to wait...

Disgaea 3 Announced

NISAt a recent Sony event in Tokyo, Nippon Ichi officially announced the highly anticipated Disgaea 3!

The basic Strategy/RPG elements of the series will remain the same and the game will be appearing exclusively on Sony's PS3. The graphics will reportedly receive a slight upgrade, although it's not looking like it's going to take advantage of the power of Sony's console. The Japanese release date is set for this winter, but no North American date has been announced.

Very few details about the game have been given, so I don't have much more to say right now. Stick with Just-RPG for future updates!

Oblivion: Game of the Year Edition Announced

OblivionBethesda Softworks has just announced the upcoming release of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - Game of the Year Edition.

This Edition of the game will be available on store shelves in September, 2007 for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. It will include all of the content from Shivering Isles, Knights of the Nine, and all of the extra downloadable content.

As an Oblivion fan, I'm personally glad to hear this news, although I must admit I expected it sooner or later. After all, Bethesda did the same thing for Morrowind.

Oblivion PS3 Dated

OblivionGamespot has confirmed from Bethesda that Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion will be released on the PS3 on March 20, 2007. The game was initially supposed to be a launch title, but just like the Xbox 360 version, saw last minute delays.

PS3 fans are in for a treat when one of the most highly praised RPGs ever is released on their system in just a few weeks. Assuming it's actually released this time...

Thanks Gamespot.
