Disgaea 3 is Official

We all knew it was coming, but to the delight of gamers across the country, NIS America has finally 'officially' announced that Disgaea 3 is heading for the PS3 in North America this summer!

Not a lot of details have been given about the game just yet, but look for some screenshots and more info in the coming days.

Overlord PS3 Bound

Codemasters has just announced that their Action Adventure Overlord will be heading to the PS3 this summer with the title Overlord: Raising Hell.

Overlord was originally published on the Xbox 360, but the PS3 version will offer the complete Overlord experience with all-new content and improved visuals and sound.

In Overlord, players will assume the role of an all-powerful Overlord leading a loyal army of minions. By amassing an army of up to 50 minions, gamers can tactically battle enemies and conquer the game's five domains. Embark on a wave of tyranny in an attemtp to claim the underworld throne for yourself!

Two Worlds Multiplayer Updates

SouthPeak Games has just announced that they will be releasing two downloadable content expansions for Two Worlds.

Both of these packs will be available through Xbox Live and will expand the world of Antaloor with new multiplayer maps, new cooperative missions and player-versus-player challenges.

Two Worlds has been a huge success for SouthPeak and much of its appeal has been a huge world to explore,” said Melanie Mroz, CEO of SouthPeak Games. “Reality Pump has worked tirelessly to improve the multiplayer experience and the downloadable content is geared towards expanding upon it, offering lots of new missions and areas to explore with friends.”


The first of these expansions will be available for download in March, with the second becoming available in April. Both will cost 600 Microsoft points.

Requiem: Bloodymare Beta

Gravity Interactive has announced that the closed Beta for Requiem: Bloodymare starts Tuesday, Feb. 26.

Requiem: Bloodymare takes place in a dark, post-apocalyptic world where genetic manipulation and dark magic have spawned grotesque monsters. Players take the role of the genetically-enhanced and magically-adept Temperion soldiers, powerful beings who hold the last best hope for Ethegia.

Gamers interested in getting in on the closed Beta will want to know that FilePlanet registered users will have a limited quantity of accounts available at 4 p.m. PST on Tuesday, Feb. 26 at http://www.fileplanet.com/. Also, on Friday, Feb. 29, MMORPG.com and MMOSITE.com will also have a number of codes available on a first come, first served basis. Lastly, for those that registered on http://www.playrequiem.com/ but didn’t get a code, Gravity Interactive will offer another chance to participate in the closed beta.

Persona 3 FES Coming to NA

Atlus has finally officially announced that they will be bringing Persona 3 FES to North America!

Persona FES stands for 'festival' and was originally released in Japan as a bonus to gamers who picked up Persona 3. This game includes totally new content that enhances the original game and is a standalone game in itself.

Most exciting of all, this definitive Persona 3 experience will be abailable for only $29.99! Look for it in stores in late April.

DQ Swords in Stores!

Square Enix has announced that Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors (whoa, what a name) is shipping to retailers across North America today!

This latest installment in the popular Dragon Quest series is a Wii exclusive RPG that fully utilizes the Wii's motion-sensing capabilities, allowing players to use the Wii remote as a variety of powerful weapons and hack n' slash through familiar monsters. Gamers will also be able to customize their attacks by combining materials to their weapons.

Sanrio Digital today announced the closed beta launch of Hello Kitty Online, an upcoming MMORPG based on the famous Hello Kitty franchise.

Hello Kitty Online allows players to explore Sanrio’s fantasy world, a magical land that has recently fallen under the influence of a mysterious and malevolent power. Sanrio is currently accepting applications for the closed Beta, and interested parties are invited to apply at the game's official site here.

Mass Effect to PC!

MassBioWare has just announced that their new parent company Electronic Arts will be bringing Mass Effect to the PC in May 2008.

Mass Effect has received high scores from the media as well as many awards, including RPG of the Year from the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences. It is a sci-fi RPG originally available only for the Xbox 360. However, EA and Microsoft have recently come to an agreement allowing the title to come to the PC.

EA promises that the game will be optimized for the PC, with high-resolution visuals, hotkeys, customizable controls, and more!

Joymax has recently announced the launch of their vampire-themed MMORPG, Darkeden.

World of Kung Fu Open Beta

VestGame Entertainment has recently announced the Open Beta for their upcoming MMORPG World of Kung Fu, which starts February 14th.

World of Kung Fu is an immersive 3D online game that is completely free to play. The game world is based on traditional Chinese martial arts and mythology with game-art drawn by famous Japanese designer Senri Kita, best known for her artwork in Samurai Showdown.

Dragon Quest Swords Moves Up

Square Enix dropped me a little note earlier today informing me that the release date for their upcoming Wii game, Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors, has changed.

Normally this is BAD news, but in this case it's great news because rather than the previous release dsate of February 26, gamers will now be able to get their hands on Dragon Quest Swords on February 19!

Designed specifically for the Wii, Dragon Quest Swords takes full advantage of the systems unique capabilities and allows gamers to use the remote as a powerful weapon. This unique adventure is the latest entry in the popular Dragon Quest series and the first to appear on the Wii.

Gothic 3 - The Beginning Now Available

JoWooD Productions has recently announced that the mobile gaming version of their successful Role Playing Game, Gothic, is now available.

The story is set more than 140 years prior to the first part of the Gothic series. You slip into the role of young Xardas who is visited one night by Buthomar’s ghost. He asks you to find the four chosen ones. It’s with their help, that you shall bring back the sealed magic to the island Khorinis.

More Mass Effect

MassMicrosoft has announced the first bit of downloadable content for their hit Xbox 360 RPG Mass Effect.

This additional content, titled Bring Down the Sky, features an all-new world to explore complete with a new alien race known as the Batarians. Overall, Bring Down the Sky will include 90 minutes of additional gameplay and 50 more achievement points, along with an expanded storyline.

Expect Bring Down the Sky to be released on March 10 for 400 Microsoft Points (or $5).

New Gothic 3 Patch

Gothic 3 fans will be pleased to announce that JoWooD Productions and Spellbound Entertainment AG have released the Patch 1.6 for Gothic 3.


This patch includes a large number of gameplay and data improvements committed by the Community Patch team. The Spellbound team has also implemented a new memory system in order to improves the game's stability and reduces the memory requirements at the same time, also for Windows Vista. Furthermore the team worked on the "Where is the Guru"-Bugs, which have been nearly eliminated, due to a variety of bug fixes which were made to address causes of game crashes. These changes have all been made with the gaming community in mind.

Legendary: The Box On Consoles

Gamecock Media Group and Spark Unlimited have just announced that their upcoming game, Legendary: The Box, will be headed to the Xbox 360 and PS3 in addition to the PC when it is released this summer.

Legendary is a first person shooter filled with mythical beasts and fantasy. The game chronicles the story of Charles Deckard, an art thief who is duped into stealing Pandora’s Box. When he inadvertently opens it, he releases hordes of beasts such as werewolves and gryphons into our world. As the man who freed these monsters and the only one that can restore order, Charles finds himself in an all out war of man versus myth.


While this isn't quite an RPG, the game's fantastic tale and beautiful screenshots have grabbed my interest, so it seems worth a bit of coverage to me. Look forward to more in the future, and in the mean time, check out the official site below:

Conan Habla Espanol

Funcom has recently announced the launch of a Spanish community forum for their upcoming MMORPG Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures. This announcement comes just a week after launching the new official site for the game at http://www.ageofconan.com/.

In addition, Funcom will be launching a Spanish localized version of the highly anticipated game simultaneously with the North American, English, German and French on May 20th, 2008. Spanish speaking gamers can now look forward to playing Conan in their native language, and can join in the community hype at the official Spanish community forum!
